Recently, I came across my childhood watercolor tin. I’d been puzzling over the variety of fancy, name-brand empty tins online with the idea of customizing one for my travel sketch kit. The prices were quite daunting, however; I’d much rather spend the money on paint and paper. And food. 😛

This vintage Playtime tin will allow me to bring larger pans and a bigger variety of color with me. Just think: all these many (many) years later, I am getting such pleasure from this item — and the original investment was a mere 29₵! I’d say that was money well-spent. Thanks, Mom!
